Will You Stand Up - Workshop

Last post we featured one of the workshops in the Violence Prevention Skill-Building series for the Will You Stand Up? project.  

(As a quick summary, there is a public theatrical event on December 1st at 6pm,  followed by two weeks of workshops led by some of the best professionals in Illinois.)


The workshops include:

Cyberbullying…The Choices and
Responsibilities of Digital Citizenship

Facilitator: Sarah Migas (pictured)

This workshop will challenge the participants to critically think about the relational choices they make
using digital technology. It will also examine the impact of cyberbullying on the digital community.  Join us for a dynamic workshop!

Sarah Migas, MSW
Sarah Migas, MSW, is a fourteen-year veteran of the field of social work and also taught in the CPS System. She is currently the Internet Safety Specialist for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
Additionally, she is an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at Dominican University. Ms. Migas has a long history of working as an educator and social worker on behalf of children
both locally and globally.

Your Life is My Life, Ending Violence 
Starts with Me: An Introduction 
Facilitators: Jenna Musselman-Palles and 
Melvin Santiago 

This campaign created by ALSO (Alliance of Local Service Organizations) is a prevention and intervention approach designed to address violence in all forms, focusing attention on how violent acts co-occur and interact with other forms of violence. It has a comprehensive focus on addressing any form of violence in the streets, in the school, and in dating relationships. 
Your Life is My Life builds and enhances alliances between individuals, disciplines, and systems toward ending violence. An amended workshop of this material will be presented.
