Rest.

Rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.  All 3 are just as important to your mental health as they are to your physical health. Allowing yourself time to get these three R's, especially if you are gearing up for a busy time at work or school, is an important part of taking care of yourself.

ETD has been doing just that, as we get ready to dive into our busiest fall season ever.  We are preparing for custom shows, school residencies, story collecting days, community forums, and the first meeting of our Ambassador Council.  That is why I am glad that all 3 of us on staff have taken time off for the 3 R's this past month.  Each of us took a week of vacation recently.

I went to Central America to spend some quality time with my sister.  We visited the historic streets of Antigua, the ruins of Tikal, and the lakeside town of Flores in Guatemala.  Then we headed to Caye Caulker in Belize for a little snorkeling, and a lot of relaxation.

When I returned to work our Communications Director Oriana got her turn, and spent her week vacation in Lima, Peru visiting family, celebrating her grandfather's 90th birthday, and touring the streets and beaches of the city.

Now that she is back at her desk ETD's founder and Artistic Director Brighid is spending a week relaxing with good books, friends, and her family in the sunny blue ridge mountains of Charlottesville, VA.

When she returns next week we will all dive into the fall refreshed and excited for the challenges ahead.  Come back later in the week to learn a little more about what we have in store for you.
