Erasing the Distance has several upcoming performances, including:
  • Erasing the Distance is performing next Friday, April 23rd, at the Elgin Mental Health Center Creative Expressions 2010 event. Sure to be a rousing experience, we hope you will come on by! 750 South Street, Elgin, IL at 2:30 pm. Free and open to the community.

This article came to my attention, and I wanted to share it you because the subject includes bringing mental illness to light through true personal stories.
  • Chicago Art Magazine is publishing an ongoing series by Carrie McGath, a local artist who shares her personal story about her life as an artist with Bipolar. The first essay, Artists, Bipolar and the Role of Medication, is a personal account and general overview of her experiences with bipolar, including her years without diagnosis. The article also includes poetry by the author and discussion of relevant books about artists and bipolar.
And, speaking of books relevant to personal stories of mental illness -- we have a list of books on the left side of this page. Do you have others to add to the list?

Thanks for reading!
